Amber Room

From all the known lost treasure, Amber Room is one of the most well-known. It’s basically a room made out of Gold. Very beautiful, very luxurious. Amber Room is also considered as the World Wonder #8. Amber Room is built-in 1709 and it is where the King of Prussia lives until it was given to Tsar Peter the Great in 1716. It vanished suddenly after more than 200 years in Russia.

In 1941, Nazi attacked Leningrad and the Soviets were trying to have their treasure hidden, but too bad, the Nazi cannot be easily fooled. Only within 36 hours, they are able to get everything inside Amber Room and then transported via train to City of Königsberg in Germany. After the end of World War II in 1945, the Soviets are trying to get Amber Room back, but too bad it was nowhere to be found.

Stop the Convoy!

If you live in Jakarta, you must already know that it’s hell to drive without a driver. Getting to a place that should only take 5 minutes will take at least 1 hour even not during busy hours. The government blames it to us for having too many private cars but they have never done anything to fix the public transportation. I wouldn’t mind going by bus to my office if there’s any.

Everyone has issues with the bad traffic in Jakarta and still no solution what so ever from the government. In fact, The high rank officials only have solutions for themselves. How? Police patrol help them get through the traffic in convoy. It helps them get to their destination quicker than everyone else but it makes the traffic even worse. Our president lives in Cikeas and his office is located in the Central of Jakarta. Can you imagine what the traffic would be if all the cars have to stop and wait for President to convoy every single day? Is this happening in neighbor countries? The answer is NO!

Let’s look at:

1. Philippines

Istana Malacanang. The president use this palace as his office.

2. Pakistan

Aiwan-e-Sadr aka. President’s palace. Besides living in this palace, the president also works in this palace. This is his office. The first president who lives in this palace is Ghulam Ishaq Khan in 1988. Aiwan-e-Sadr is located in the northern part of Islamabad and is built purposely in the middle of the parliament building and the supreme court.

Kotak tidur atau istilahnya disebut sebagai Sleep Boxes ini dirancang oleh perusahaan bernama Arch Group yang berasal dari Rusia yang gunanya hanya satu yaitu memberikan kenyamanan tidur bagi orang2 yang berpergian jauh dan harus menunggu flight atau jadwal train berikutnya. Sleepbox ini harganya jauh lebih murah dari hotel2 yang ada tapi fasilitas di dalamnya tidak kalah. Dalam Sleep Boxes, ada ranjang, kasur, ventilasi udara yang baik, alarm, WI-FI, LCD TV, Meja untuk laptop dan juga telepon yang dimana ada biaya tambahan jika digunakan untuk menelepon keluar.

Sleep Boxes dapat ditemukan di beberapa tempat umum seperti airpots, stasiun kereta dan lain2. Di Jepang, konsep ini bukanlah suatu hal yang baru lagi dan disana fasilitas yang sama seperti ini disebut dengan nama ‘Capsule Hotels’ yang gunanya pun sama dengan Sleep Boxes namun memang Sleep Boxes lebih besar dari segi ukuran dan menyediakan lebih banyak tempat untuk dapat duduk dan tidur.

Ukuran Sleep Boxes yaitu 2m x 1.40m x 2m. Aman, nyaman untuk semua orang. Harga jelas lebih murah dan orang2 pun dapat menghemat waktu mencari hotel.

The Sacred Waters of the Riviera Maya

The natural wonders of the state of Yucatán are innumerable and some of the most important and unusual are the cenotes, or sinkholes. In the Yucatán there are over 3000 cenotes, with only 1400 actually studied and registered. The Mayas called them dzonot, which the conquering Spaniards translated as cenote. Geraldo Díaz Alpuche was a military commander in the 16th century who was greatly impressed with these underground caverns and pools, and he tried to explain the meaning of the word cenote in the Spanish language as meaning “deep thing”. The Motul dictionary, a dictionary of Mayan hieroglyphics, defines dzonot as “abysmal and deep”.   Cenotes are magical, enigmatic and unique in the world and were once the only resource for fresh, sweet water in the local Yucatecan jungle. They were the sacred places of the Mayas for that reason, but also because they represented the entrance to the underworld. The Yucatán Peninsula is a porous limestone shelf with no visible rivers; all the fresh water rivers are underground. Being porous, caverns and caves formed where the fresh water collects – hence the cenotes or water sinkholes. The water that gathers in these subterranean cenotes is a crystal clear turquoise color with a very pleasant temperature of 78° F (25.5º C).   The stalactites and stalagmites that form inside the cenotes are true natural works of art. In many, holes in the ceiling allow the sunlight to filter into the cenotes, giving the scene a magical feeling. The cenotes of Yucatán are a natural treasure that should be seen by all, keeping in mind that they should be protected so that man does not destroy in a few days what nature took millions of years to create.

There are four different types of cenotes – those that are completely underground, those that are semi-underground, those that are at land level like a lake or pond, like the one at Dzibilchaltún, and those that are open wells, like the one in Chichén Itzá. Some of them are accessible for swimming and cave diving, but this is a sport that should ONLY be practiced with a professional guide.

Beautiful Beluga Whale found in Russian Sea

A beluga whale was found just 3 feet depth of the super cold icy Russian sea. It is very rare that such incident occurs. In here, they are safe from human hunters, but still pollution might endanger their habitat. This territory is where beluga whales are protected and also nurtured.

These whales were posing beautifully in front of the underwater photographer. According to the photographer, Franco Banfi, during the photo shooting, instead of running away, they went near them and even have the courage to look them directly in their eye as if they want to get acquainted.

11 Known Cases of Genetic Disorder

How genetics can change the body structure? These are the lists of 11 known cases around the world. There are seriously some fucked up shit.

1. 2 Headed Cats: This kitten is born in Veteriner Swan Clinic, Perth, Australia. When the mother was brought to the hospital before the delivery, there are some complications. This kitten is owned by George Huber and Louisa Burgess.

2. 2 Headed Lizard: This lizard has 2 heads, each on its side and was found in an antique store in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, China on 3rd June 2008. The size is around 10 cm long. This lizard is able to move slowly to the opposite direction without the need to turn over its head.

3. 2 Headed Pig: This pig is considered as a blessing by the local farmer in China because Pig is believed to be a sacred animal that brings luck. This pig is born in 2007 which is also the year of Pig in Chinese calender. Born with 1,5 Kg, 2 mouths and 4 eyes in a small village east of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China.

4. 2 Headed Python: This twin headed python was first found by a vet in a zoo in Kolombo, Sri Lanka. Both head had to go through a surgery to separate the head and also to help each head with the ability to eat independently. This is a 25 inch long snake and it may grow up to 7 meter as normal python would grow.

5. 2 Headed Turtle: This turtle is found in Florida in a pet shop owned by Sean Casey, Kensington. Case, the owner mentioned that he received this turtle from a man who lived in Florida who happened to save several eggs from a car. Casey then take care of this turtle at home which then brought to his pet store. Too bad it was stolen.

6. 2 Headed Crocodile: Found in Thailand in 2001

7. 2 Headed Cow: This cow is born in Virginia, USA. It has 3 sets of teeth but still has 1 mouth with separated breathing system.

8. 2 Headed Sheep: This sheep is born in Islandia. Pall Stefansson, a vet who take care of this sheep, mentioned that this sheep is very rare and he only hear that there are only 2 same cases within years of his expertise.

9. 2 Headed Insect: This insect falls under category of Katydids. Was found in Amaga, Antioquia, Colombia.

10. 2 Headed Fish: This fish was caught in Oilsands Alberta in Athabasca lake with 2.5 kg weight. This fish has 2 mouths.

11. 2 Headed Human Beings:Abigail dan brittany hensel are two girls in body. Both of them have different personalities. Polycephaly is very rare in human beings and it’s a miracle that they are able to grow older together. They are able to walk easily and amazingly, they have earned their driving license. Each of them earn the license because they have to take the exam twice.

After a long break

6 months without blogging. I never realize that it was already 6 months ago since the last time I really spend my time in front of the computer to write about my thoughts and share the things that I’ve learned in life. I’ve been away these past few weeks and I really had a great experience traveling with friends, families and specifically with my father whom I just returned from a week of business trip.

Within the next few weeks, I’m going to face the most difficult project that I have ever done in my entire life. I’m trying my best to be able to finish this project then earn some cash for my future. This is like the ‘it’ project which I put my entire hope about my future to win the project. I could not afford to lose this project. Plenty of plans await me afterwards which I can only manage to get everything works out after winning this project.

Anyway, I’m going to continue to blog again and hopefully, there will be no long break.

A Little Bird

A little bird was flying south for the Winter.It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.
